I disagree with the article quoted by TitleRep. Right now Portland's downtown is so torn up that it is impossible to get around the area. The worst is SW Market off of Highway 26. I drove down SW Columbia for a block and turned off because I was afraid I was going to get a flat tire from the holes in the road. I have coworkers that actively avoid going downtown because of these reasons. Hopefully the City will discontinue the practice of doing 20 construction projects at the same time in the future.

Don't get me wrong - I love Portland. But the elected officials better start realizing that the attractiveness is turning into desolation with their decisions.

This month's Men's Journal has Portland as #5 of the top 5 "Best Downtowns" in America. We follow Austin, San Diego, Denver, and Philly. Not sure how they came to these conclusions, but it's always good to see Portland in the mix.
